Community Food Bank Black & White Fundraiser

The Avalon Theater in Grand Junction, Colorado

The Community Food Bank held its first annual Black and White Fundraiser this fall at the Avalon Theater in downtown Grand Junction. Attendees included individuals, businesses, and non-profit partners who have supported the food bank over its 40 years of service to Mesa County. Festivities got underway with a video presentation about the history, mission, and operation of the food bank, and culminated with an introduction of the board of directors and staff. Patrons enjoyed food and libations and music by bone tree as they milled about bidding on silent auction items provided by event sponsors and local businesses. The final tally from all sources netted $14,000. Given the food bank’s local grocery store discounts, that represents a food purchase of close to $40,000. It was a night to remember in a town of great compassion and energy! :
