As summer cools off and we hit the fall season, nothing feels better than crisp mornings and evenings paired with some adventure. Bring on the corduroy, anoraks and sweaters, and let us introduce you to Amundsen Sports.

Amundsen Sports is a Norwegian technical sportswear company, and as they recently decided to expand into the United States, Christian Lovenskiold, head of North America operations, says Colorado was “a natural choice.”

“I had just finished college at CU Boulder and had gotten to learn the city of Boulder’s roaring outdoor community,” shares Lovenskiold. “With its proximity to all major cities and ski resorts, centrally located in the country and as a bonus one of the most active states in the nation, Colorado was an obvious starting point.”

Amundsen Sports has built its brand and vision around who Lovenskiold calls one of the greatest explorers of all time, Roald Amundsen. Jørgen Amundsen, a descendant of Roald, founded Amundsen Sports in 2011 with his childhood buddy, Erik Friis.

“They went down to Antarctica and launched the brand 100 years after Roald Amundsen reached the South Pole as the world’s first. Since then, Amundsen Sports has grown into a four season outdoor brand. We take great pride in our European production and material sourcing,” explains Lovenskiold. “Micro specializing and over-engineering of outdoor clothing is avoided, and simple and robust concepts are preserved. As a pioneer of winter survival, Roald Amundsen established simple concepts and in his honor we promote long-lasting and timeless products for all ages.”

This fall season, Amundsen has developed a mix of highly technical as well as fashion products, and are launching a new collection.

“One of our absolute screamers is our Fjord Cord Ski Slacks,” he shares. “These corduroy ski pants are definitely unique and will be sure to turn heads as you hit the slopes. With snow stoppers and zippers covering your boots, and Schoeller re-enforcement in the seat, we believe that we have created the ultimate ski pant for the customer looking for style and durability.”

Accompanied by a wide range of knickersbockers, fleeces and stretch waterproofs, Amundsen has something for every kind of Colorado day and every type of adventurous endeavor.
