Gear Hub: Peppermint Cycling Signature Bib + Jersey
Cycling the Colorado National Monument makes for a great day in the saddle, especially when you have a comfortable, performance-forward and fun kit to wear. This was my first time riding the full loop (we opted for the Grand Junction-to-Fruita direction), and also my first time testing a bib and jersey from Peppermint Cycling Co.
Founded in Quebec in 2015, Peppermint offers cycling apparel designed by women, for women. The Canadian company’s ethos is to inspire women to live an active lifestyle by promoting the benefits of cycling, and the brand has options for road, mountain and gravel riding.
The Peppermint Cycling Signature Bib combines both style and performance. I find the fit to have just enough compression without feeling restrictive, and the chamois provides just the right amount of cushioning and anatomical shaping to ensure a smooth and pain-free ride. I especially appreciate the wide bib straps that sit comfortably on my shoulders but still stay in place.
The fit of the Peppermint Cycling Signature Jersey is tailored to the body but still allows for freedom of movement. The fabric is UPF for sun protection and offers a perfect balance between breathability and moisture-management. As the temperature increased on our Monument ride, the jersey wicked sweat and kept me dry. The full-length zipper provides excellent ventilation options, and the three rear pockets, along with a secure zipper pocket, make it easy to carry essential items like a light layer, snacks and a phone.
The aesthetic appeal of this kit is undeniable with a tasteful and modern design. Peppermint Cycling has kits available in a range of color combinations, allowing cyclists to express their personal style while maintaining a top-level look.
As a side note, I also tested the Tifosi Rail XC Sunglasses for this Monument ride and they were great. The rimless frames offer protection from sun and debris while maximizing airflow.
