Gear Hub: NewAge PVC Slatwall For Gear + Tool Organization

Proper organization of gear and tools has seemed like a constant struggle between our home, office and shed, but a recent upgrade to the NewAge PVC Slatwall has refreshed my outlook on what’s possible. This slatwall is designed to handle up to 75 pounds per square foot, making it more durable and reliable than traditional wood pegboards that can warp over time. We’ve tried shelving, drawers and bins, and this system is the best we’ve found for efficient and reliable organization.

The NewAge PVC Slatwall offers a variety of compatible storage options like baskets, shelves and hooks. The sleek and functional design hides mounting hardware, so in our shed this has provided a more polished appearance, and I can see how it would also be ideal for storage in an office or garage.

This allows for more flexible and efficient organization. Whether you’re hanging tools or displaying outdoor gear, NewAge’s PVC Slatwall can be configured to your needs, making it easy to give your gear the showcase it deserves.

Installation

I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the installation turned out to be. A level and stud finder is on the required tools list, but the level is only necessary for ensuring the bottom slat is aligned — it is a crucial step to creating an even, stable wall.

The key to getting the full weight-bearing capability is ensuring that each slat is securely attached to studs or other solid structures. After marking the stud locations with vertical lines for the height of your wall, installation becomes almost effortless. Each subsequent slat snaps into place above the previous one, and it’s just a matter of adding screws.

The most time-consuming part for me was deciding where I wanted to install the slatwall. After taking a few measurements and marking the stud lines, the actual setup was completed in about 15 minutes.

Versatility + Performance

We initially ordered the Sports Slatwall Hook Kit with plans to hang outdoor equipment like bikes, camping gear and golf clubs. Our tools are all set up, and now, with the changing seasons, we have the ability to easily swap the slatwall accessories around according to what we want to hang and when. The flexibility of the system is a game-changer for anyone who wants a tidy and well-organized space. This is the first time our shed has ever been this organized, and now I’m wishing we had more room for another slatwall kit!

The NewAge PVC Slatwall is $5.75 per square foot, and the Sports Slatwall Hook Kit is $129.99, including four 8-inch double hooks, two vertical bike hooks, one golf hook and shelf, six 4-inch single hooks and one mesh basket.
