With walls from 25 to 50 feet tall, bouldering, auto belays, top ropes, lead climbing, adjustable system boards, strength and aerobic workout areas, Grand Valley Climbing Gym (GVCG) is a fun and lively destination any time of year. The facility offers everything from birthday parties to competition climbing, family fun climbing sessions to private training. Along with all of the adult and youth training and educational programs, GVCG hosts seasonal events like IFSC World Cup boulder and lead and Olympic viewing parties, climbing movie nights, slideshows and more. WEST ELK CHALLENGE TRAIL MARATHON
The West Elk Challenge is a trail marathon during the peak of fall colors. Racers will start on the shores of Crawford Reservoir State Park and travel on gravel roads through the farms and ranches at the base of the iconic Needle Rock. Soon thereafter, the trail enters the Gunnison National Forest and begins climbing the singletrack through golden aspen stands on the slopes of Mt. Lamborn. Runners top the 9,762-foot summit of Inter-Ocean Pass, and descend through spruce, aspen and oak, past Lone Cabin Reservoir to the town of Paonia and end along the North Fork of the Gunnison River. Run, walk and hike your way through the fall foliage of the West Elk Mountains! This challenge is a fundraiser for the Nature Connection, whose mission is to break down barriers to get kids and families outside.

The Vail Recreation District proudly presents the Dynafit Vail Trail Running Series and the Bloch & Chapleau Mountain Bike Series, taking place in and around Vail.
The Dynafit Vail Trail Running Series features a variety of challenging trail running events on select Saturdays through the fall.
Meanwhile, the Bloch & Chapleau Mountain Bike Series offers races across diverse and technical terrain on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. Both series offer great prizes, raffles, after-parties and the chance to test your endurance on our beautiful mountain trails!
