Stay + Play At Kebler Corner: Summer + Fall Cabins, RV Sites + Tent Camping
If you’ve driven McClure Pass connecting Redstone and Somerset, or hit the scenic route to or from Crested Butte on Kebler Pass, then you’ve driven by the quaint intersection that is the home of Kebler Corner.
We enjoyed two nights at this sweet campground in the quiet time of mid-October. It was a sunny weekend with crisp autumn air. The summer crowds had waned and we had some time and space to take our puppy Pepper camping for the first time, unplug a bit, road bike McClure and venture to some North Fork Valley wineries for an afternoon.
Kebler Corner is open May through October, and reservations are always recommended. The property features a range of cabin sizes, RV sites (with full hookups or electricity only) and scenic riverside tent sites. The amenities add extra touches of camping enjoyments and comfort, including river access, hiking trails, outdoor common spaces, a general store with basic groceries, coin-operated laundry, guest Wi Fi access and private bathrooms with showers. Nightly rates start at $35.
An abundance of wilderness access and nearby activities make Kebler Corner an ideal location for a quiet retreat or full family getaway. Nearby towns like Paonia have beautiful you-pick orchards and wine tasting terraces, live music and art shows throughout the summer and fall months. Day trips to beautiful mountain destinations like Crested Butte and Ouray are accessible from Kebler Corner, and local offerings from outfitters like Western Slope SUP can bring you out for a river adventure.
We most enjoyed taking it easy, relaxing on the property, heading out for some fun during the day and then cozying up by the fire back at the campsite. Kebler Corner is a basecamp for whatever you’re looking to do, offering the comforts of a home-away-from home and the magic that is camping in Colorado.
