Gear Hub: Cat Footwear Stormers 11”
I grew up on a small farm, so I’ve worn my fair share of tall rubber boots. My first adult size pair came as hand-me-downs from my mom. Spending many hours shoveling stalls and planting gardens, I would never refer to those boots as anything but functional. There was zero comfort sliding my feet into my Agway specials. After a few hours my feet would be damp with sweat and would inevitably chaff or get blisters. Not to mention the stiff rubber sole had very limited traction and required an Epsom salt foot soaking after a full day in them.
I recently tested the Cat Stormers, a boot that would have solved all of my woes back on the farm. Those wet and messy days would have been no match for the Stormers.
The waterproof rubber boot has a slip-resistant and oil-resistant sole that provided traction on rocks and uneven terrain even when covered in mud. I used them while laying sod recently in a rainstorm. My footing was not only sturdy the entire time, I never slipped once.
The outsole keeps you dry, but it is what is inside that keeps your foot comfy and free from chaffing and blisters. The Stormers come with an ultra-comfortable, shock absorbing foot bed. And the entire inside has a soft neoprene lining. There was zero chaffing. I would be willing to wear them without socks on the warmer days.
While I tested the 11-inch Stormers, they also come in a 6-inch shoe, and steal toe options.
The Cat Stormers 11” are $125. Check them out at catfootwear.com
